The US Military is a large greenhouse gas producer, and the global livestock industry produces 14.5% of emissions. Cowspiracy on Netflix explains how the beef industry is responsible for rainforest deforestation too.
Is there a nice chart showing the comparative emissions of the corporations vs US military vs beef industry? I see the 100 companies figure posted from time to time, but not so much the other two stats.
This paper claims the US has 60,000 Humvees getting 4-6mpg and that jets pollute even more. I might read it all later, but who can direct me to some even better information? Thanks.
