Had a young econ professor moving back to our eu country to teach here from a job at a big and "excellent" uni in california. He said he hopes Biden gets elected, and that CA is a deep red state.
A co-worker of mine interjected: aren't the democrats blue.
He said: red because they are more like our succdem party which are red, but actually the Californian Democratic was more akin to our far left and green party.
Am I going insane?
Update: of course, the entire group deeply cares about a certain judge, while not knowing one on the supreme court of the country they are citizens of.
We had state level single payer ready to pass only for the bill to be withdrawn by democratic party leadership at the behest of our governor. We are more progressive than most of the US but to say we're far left is fucking crazy.

Well, I'll admit one similarity between succdems and democrats, they both just love to loose.
