The Libyan civil war was a terrible tragedy, the NATO invasion of Libya was a vile crime and it's hard to imagine the people of Libya would not be better off with Gaddafi still alive and in charge.
The East Is A Podcast has done a couple of good episodes on Ghaddafi recently. In short, the guy is a mixed bag because he ultimately sold out to the imperialists and trusted them and was then literally raped to death in public on video by a mob as a result, with much of the progress he made in Libya over the decades undone in a few months.

true, i should've worded my comment better. i meant that him being an unhinged dictator was brought up to excuse what nato did in libya
