That can't be, they pump so much money into that department and it would irresponsible to misappropriate that blob-no-thoughts

The US expects to replace their minute men some time after 2031 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGM-35_Sentinel

          Already is!

In 4 years, projected budget increased by 37% (30 billion) timeline got pushed back 2 years.

If it continues to extend 2 years for every 4, and budget increases by 37% every 4 years, it'll be done by ~2040 and cost 380 billion.

Must be amazing heading one of those companies

"Hey, investors are demanding a higher return this year due to inflation. You're gone if they aren't satisfied."

"Ah shit... alright get Lindsey Graham on the phone. Tell him I need him to write In another $100B to the defense budget..."

They literally just print money and no one in congress is ever gonna question it or say no for fear of being reported as "not supporting national security" or whatever

            Dogshit country

        So stupid too

Putting aside morals and such of nukes, the terrestrial ICBMs are totally unnecessary when subs already exist and are out in the oceans carrying warheads that can devastate any country on earth. Just scrap the dickwagging missiles and stick to the subs. But boomers love nothing else more than dickwagging, so, here we are.

And again, the entire premise is stupid, just saying how they take a stupid idea and exponentially make it stupider

Trump did see through a program that increased a lot of funding for retrofitting and even designing new warheads

Yes, but for example the ICBM project is currently so far overbudget and overtime that it's near the cancellation. Sure they will pump as much money as they can but the effect is unknown and rather dubious considering the long string of failures plaguing their R&D for last 2 decades. Same with the retrofitting - it's a country that had problem decomissioning their old nuclear aircraft carrier recently.

Imagine if a nuclear exchange happened, but none of the warheads went off because of some unforseen flaw from the material degradation that arises after sitting in a silo for thirty years.
