When Paul Wellstone died a week before elections Minnesota democrats didn't know what to do so Walter Mondale stepped in and absolutely blew it. The former Vice President lost to St Paul mayor Norm Coleman. The democrats still do a horseshit job of memorializing Wellstone because conservatives attack them for politicizing his death since it's so close to the election. It would be so funny if Biden died a week before and doesn't get the grand spectacle of a funeral like McCain did.
