There were probably hundreds of them on this building, not sure why they like it so much

spoiler

I choose to call them by their UK name because "daddy long legs" sounds weirdly sexual

Aren't they also different species? Harvestmen have fatter mid sections and don't seem to hang out in webs. Usually find them in wood piles.

Both "harvestman" and "daddy longlegs" are common names that are used for all kinds of different unrelated animals

The arachnids in my photo belong to the order Opiliones

Harvestmen are much more tolerant of each other than most arachnids. There's debate over whether they're colony forming or just gregarious.

Any of them formed a beard?

I think there's even a few different species here. Some have rounder bodies with different markings, but I might be wrong

Female harvestmen have rounder bodies than males typically, so body shape might not be an indication of different species.

I think that longer one on the left might be Opilio canestrinii but I'm no entomologist.
