Eh Sir Eh you got a license to watch that sunset, sir, EH
they've been doing this for years now, i don't live in Vancouver anymore but I used to live close to English Bay and they would use ATVs and low flying helicopters to clear the beach in the spring and summer after 10 pm. back then (2021/2022) it was in the name of covid safety even after BC had abandoned even the slightest hint of public safety measures so im not surprised they've cooked up another reason to use extremely disproportionate responses to resolve the issue of checks notes people at the beach at night
Damn, that's such a shame. I visited pre-Covid and English Bay was beautiful.
I loved how people hung out there until very late, never expected to see that beach culture in Canada.
every park near me closes at dus (and they do enforce that shit), which is before get home from work in the winter, hours before 10pm. I yearn for the freedom to be out that late.l :(
they would use ATVs and low flying helicopters
Even from a shitlib perspective, that's got to be so needlessly expensive, right?
I'd love to know too. This picture could be of a totally unrelated police action.
Yeah, is there a source on this? The tweet just has a photo and I don't have twitter so I can't tell if there's anything in the comments.

plenty of people in the comments confirming
Oh so it's to stop homeless people. I should have guessed.
"I didn't think anti-loitering laws would apply to my loitering!"
This is all because of Protestant work culture and how having even a little bit of fun is the work of the devil.
(Yes, this is a bit. Like how when anything happens in Asian whitey rushes to chime in about Confucianism and saving face.)
: “Having FUN!?! Time is money, boy! Look at those freeloaders just leaving money on the table like that! Get back to work!”
In Canada, the government has banned watching the sunset because they don't want the people to know that the workday has ended
