Texas English teacher asks students to write an essay on a hero, lists 'Kyle Rittenhouse' alongside Gandhi, Malcolm X, George Floyd, Cesar Chavez as one of the subjects.

All they want is another Rittenhouse, they're just daring each other to do it. None of them wants to cross that barrier themselves because of how risky it is... but they all want it to be crossed. We all desire an end to the neoliberal condition and late stage capitalism (except the very rich elite, I suppose) and without mass education on Marxism and working class consciousness the call of the void that is mass shooting unrest is so powerful. Teens are the perfect people to goad because they haven't developed the part of the brain that deals with long-term planning and executive control (brains not done developing until 23 or 25) and Gen Z people probably increasingly feels like they have nothing to lose anyway.

The Breonna Taylor decision is coming tonight. NFAC showed up in Louisville already in huge numbers, so did some right-wing groups, for the Kentucky derby. Feels like the we're keeping a candle next to some dry-ass tinder and just waiting for someone to knock it over.
