Ok I’m not even American so I won’t be voting anyway. With that out the way I feel like Biden would be better for the left. Why? Because liberals wouldn’t be able to blame everything on Trump and be smug as fuck. Shit is going down and while the Republicans are in power liberals can pretend that everything thing would be jolly under their presidency. If Biden is president and things are still going to shit the left can actually attack liberalism properly.

Problems with this view?

Well, I think that view assumes liberals will care or actually look critically at Biden. They didn't do it for Obama despite the drone strikes and I doubt they'd look critically at anything bad biden does.

I wasn’t really very online or politically aware before 2016 but isn’t the American left much larger and more vocal now? Things are also worse than they were under Obama, who oversaw the recovery of the economy after 2008.

Very true, and that is an excellent point. However liberals still exist. I also don't live in America but I used to and all my family does. But my point is even if the left is bigger and criticizes more, libs will still deflect and there's nothing we can really do about that. The people we are trying to reach will be more ingrained in their beliefs if Biden wins, I think.

I think it's hard to say, honestly. I'm trying to find a material analysis on what it would all mean, and I think that covid is going to be much worse as it gets colder, and if there is a Biden administration, people may be able to see just how inadequate the libs are.

However, I've also seen George Bush totally rehabilitated, so there may just be a perpetual "Trump was much worse" mentality, but I also know a lot of people (myself included) enthusiastically supported Obama and radicalization began when we saw just how bad that was.

At the heart of it, I'm not sure if it really matters. I think that we need to just focus on helping the working class, and leave the elections and their outcomes to the libs.
