Any tips or ideas on choosing a final year project? I need to do a project to graduate from computer engineering, currently having a hard time finding what to do, I'm really in blank and have anxiety I don't know what I could do.

What kind of scope is it? I had to do a similar project, can't give a lot of details without doxing myself, but we made software to aid in conservation by automating some tasks that researchers were doing. If you know anyone at your uni who has to do lots of manual work for their research you can probably find a way to help with a microcontroller system of some sort.

Are these not guided by a faculty member? I did math and physics undergrad and got my final year project by talking to my favorite prof and he had suggestions for me.

this is absolutely the way to go, at least it was for me... unless you have a clear idea in your mind, you should absolutely listen to your advisor, if you have one, or a professor that you trust

I had either zero ideas or crazy ideas that were ridiculously out of my wheelhouse, so my advisor steered me in the right direction and showed me a project that I could kinda somewhat muster enough energy to barely scrape by and graduate

stick your dick (if you have one) in a computer

if you don't have one we'll have to rethink this entire thing

People always seem impressed by control systems. Maybe build a robot to play a boardgame?
