I feel like the shock of this failed assassination attempt has kinds broken our brains like it did everyone else. The electoral situation has been drastically changed but electoralism ain’t shit.
Trump is the same fucking dumbass as he was last week. If his head (somehow) got bigger, then that means it will be that much more difficult for the competent fascists in his cabinet to steer him towards anything productive. And it will be that much easier for absolute loonies and stone cold grifters to gain his trust.
Shit’s bad, for sure. But running things on pure Id is just never going to be very effective or efficient. I expect the efforts of evil to redouble but the output to drop. Or at least be susceptible to principled and organised resistance. We just gotta build that, starting yesterday
I appreciate that. I have been seriously struggling since this happened. I haven't started transitioning yet and the boy mode/gender dysphoria/wanting to hide has been rough the last couple of days.
Some stuff with one of my aunts hasn't been helping either.
My plan is to get more involved with local organizing, insulate myself as much as I can from national politics. It was my plan ever since the debate. But has felt even more pressing since Saturday.
