On this day, 4 years ago the site was first launched (then a day later the first post made), Formed from chapotraphouse remnants, the old admins decided to make a site using Lemmy as its base. Originally called chapo.chat, Hexbear has grown into one of the biggest instances in the lemmyverse.
Despite various sitewide struggle sessions, wrecker incursions from other forums and federation drama, Hexbear has keep growing strong in its 4th year, now with 4 megathreads, over 4 million comments, 300k posts and much more.
Its being great running the general megathread for a bit over 3 years, since i took over i have tried to get it mostly in time and just one unlike during the old times, i like to think i have done a decent job, plus i have also added a bit of reading material to them so you nerds can learn from them and i like to think you have been reading them 
, its also nice to see the new megathreads how they have slowing grown up to the size to the old general mega in the time of the old admins.

Also 24 hours after this is posted the admins are closing the site for a day, sorry
me & my lady friend have agreed to a once a week seeing each other schedule, to balance the clear fact that things are deepening against her understandable fears about getting close to someone new/desire to take things slow & her general work busy-ness & working on herself/her own mental stuff (before this we'd been once every 1.5 weeks - 2 weeks and once 2+). i'd be open to a little more than that and i do miss her during the week and can occasionally get frustrated, but i'm also a bit lonely and should be wary of looking to her as the sole plug to the hole that is my loneliness so this is probably good for now.
apparently attachment theory does have some scientific backing, so IG it seems i can occasionally get a lil anxious attached and maybe she can get a lil avoidant. but idk we've been communicating extremely well so far, in ways that feel kinda jarring compared to a lot of my previous romances, so i think by working together we can probably be healthy and secure overall or whatever.
It sounds like things are just getting better and better dawg so tell that anxiety to shut up or i'll punch it
