This might be the stupidest thing I’ve ever fucking heard wtf

First of all, why on earth is the LAPD in Paris? Do you not have French cops? Handle it yourself god damn.

Second, a major international event like the Olympics seems, to me, like a place you would specifically want to disarm the cops, to avoid them murdering someone and shit popping off.

Third, if I was having a major international event like the Olympics I would certainly want to disarm the LAPD one of the most “shoot first ask questions never” police departments on earth.

i've heard of cop exchanges when there are international football competitions, to share info on hooligans. But the LAPD needing to be there for the Olympics? Armed? Like, the french have gendarmes.

Maybe they change their ideals from "shoot all browns" when they are european browns? Or browns rock enough to attend the Olympics? But it's more likey they burn a cross in front of Christian Baptiste's house than do a good job

During a trip last month to France, two members of Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore's security detail detained a man on the streets of Marseille who they wrongfully accused of stealing the cellphone of a high-ranking LAPD commander's wife, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Who in the world believes that LAPD officers are so especially competent or uniquely fit for the job that it warrants flying them across america and the atlantic.

Yeah, seems like it, people who volunteer to be cops on the weekends and stuff. Shaq is promoting them on the website hesitation-2

From the article pictured in the OP:

The reserves have gone through the Police Academy just like regular officers, and can "perform the same functions as regular, full-time officers”

Don't worry, they go through the same rigorous training as regular cops, so everything's fine.

This is clearly dumb, but at the same time I have trouble seeing France extraditing cops to then have a review board of other cops decide whether they should have to go to trial and then be declared innocent because Americans love boot and hate foreigners

I'm sure the French Police and Gendarmes are thrilled. Perhaps they can sing the Gendarmes Duet while beating up Romani grandmas together.
