Update on the last time a commented on the queer thread a while back.
I'm still figuring out my gender and that's been a cool experience. I've been thinking about it off and on for a little over a year now, and it's a lot of identifying and reflecting on stuff that I take for granted.
Like maybe I'm not necessarily genderqueer, but maybe I'm feeling a strain from how my race is stereotyped in such a way that navigating m/m spaces just sucks.
I guess I feel like I'm a guy, but I don't want to be put into assumed roles in relationships just because of my appearance or background. Imagine that!
It's a process, but it's nice because it feels like I'm getting closer to having the life that I want.
So apparently I "passed" yesterday when meeting up with an older relative I haven't seen for awhile when we were going to another relative's place for a graduation party. Which confuses the hell out of me, because I'm very much an AMAB cis male, and comfortable with that, and make no efforts to pretend otherwise. Apparently thick shoulder-length hair and a very clean shave and some lavender in my plaid shirt was feminine-coded in her eyes.
Got my first laser session scheduled in a few weeks! Tbh I'm feeling kinda nervous since it's permanent and, unlike HRT, it's not gradual (well, it is, but hopefully each session should have a noticeable effect, so it's abrupt in that sense), so it's not like I can just "dip my toes into it" and stop if I don't like it; if after that first session I decide I actually don't want it, then that's still gonna be a bit of my beard gone forever. But on the other hand, I really want it gone. I'm blursed with dark hair and pale skin, so while that means that laser should be effective, it also means that no matter closely or recently I've shaved it's always visible, and I realized I haven't seen my own face without some kind of beard shadow in over a decade. So yeah, I'm pretty excited for laser. The downside is that I have to avoid all sun exposure on my face.
For what it's worth, laser isn't really permanent but I really wish it was cause electrolysis sucks so much more ass than laser ever did lol
It lasts a long time and the results are good with only a handful of treatments, don't get me wrong, but if you're super worried about it, don't be.
The dude getting upset about the fae/faer neopronouns got me so pissed off ugh
Those who did, how much did you pay for laser hair removal? I'm finding out costs vary greatly from 20 dollars per session to hundreds
Personally I paid ~8000USD for 6 sessions of upper lip, chin, forearms, and full legs which is ridiculous and I only did it cause insurance covered 90% of it
