Whoever's running it now, it's not like they actually let the dementia-riddled old man be in charge of stuff

Are we sure it's Blinken? What if it's Jake Sullivan?

Whereas this essay co-written by Sullivan is from a more unrecognizable world where "One does not need to be naive about the nature of the regime in Tehran to believe it is no longer wise or necessary for the United States to remain indefinitely just shy of war with Iran."

I was mostly wondering who does the whispering in Biden's ear while Blinken's off rocking in the free world.

Maybe this is liberal brainrot, but Blinken is currently 4th in line for the "throne" after Kamala Harris, Mike Johnson, and Patty Murray. If Biden dies, resigns, or otherwise can't do President stuff, Kamala's next. None of the other three seem to have the kinds of medical problems that Biden has, so they'd probably finish out his term.

American bourgeois interests or - arguably - the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China would continue to rule the world. So, no change.

Kamala Harris would rule the world. I know this because I have an infantile understanding of how political power works.

I mean officially speaking, the vice president is the acting president when the president is incapacitated (doesn't have to be dead). Mike Pence did that several times when Trump was in surgery under general anesthesia, iirc.
