Well, socdems aren't exactly riding high right now. Corbyn was a bust, Bernie was a bust, and the social democratic welfare states which existed in the US and Europe are being scrapped for parts. Last time around, the Capitalists made concessions to the working class as a play to maintain power. That resulted in large material gains for the labor aristocracy and an air of legitimacy for the social democratic political parties. It seems clear that those concessions are off the table at this juncture, and social democrats have no answers for us.

It's like the civil rights movement. They cooperated with MLK's civil disobedience movement because they were scared of the violent disobedience movement that was happening in parallel.

They created social democratic policies because they thought, if it can happen to the fucking Romanovs, what's stopping it from happening to me, some oil company executive?

I do agree, but I've been an avowed communist for some time now, though I started as a SocDem due mostly to Bernie. Do you think their recent failures make SocDems a worse candidate for dislodging borderline leftists from liberalism?

it should have been obvious social democrats never had anything to offer, what social democrat do you remember from history for the power of their reforms, the strength of their convictions and the popular success and love elicited? none, even fucking Thatcher and Reagan do better on name recognition than the damn social democrats
