Unless you have the kind of lib friends who have completely checked out of politics more or less and stuff like the debates only makes them feel more justified in tuning it out.
I think "anti-electoralist" is a bit strong for the people I have in mind. They reliably vote Dem, but as a kind of automatic duty thing without a lot of emotional investment in politics as spectacle, but also no investment in politics as a means of liberation. I know there's probably an angle that can be approached, there are just certain kinds of libs (mostly younger) who are not radical but also don't care about Democrats and their politics and not even out of principle but just disinterest.
