Lmao and Americans will call that democracy and then clutch pearls if anyone tries to actually change the system for the better.

Hell we in the US clutch pearls when other countries minding their own business try to change their governments for the better. We're a deeply unserious nation.

Doesn't this incentivize Dems to never improve and only get worse while they financially support the most unhinged Republican candidates like they have been for the- okay I see how this works now.

This is exactly why I am a fan of one party council government systems (aka soviet style) because then the party can't blame any other party for its poor leadership. The election fuckery of modern western governments is more than enough proof that multi-party systems are overrated and just devolve into blame games and pendulum swings.

no. parliamentary just means the head of state is elected by the legistlature. how those people in the legislature are selected is immaterial, in the UK its FPTP, in other places they do ranked or other things

Australia's parliamentary system was first past the post until a third party started consistently splitting the vote.

Liberal: We don't have free and fair elections because first past the post voting results in an obfuscated one party system where two factions both subservient to the capitalist class trade power every four to eight years.

Also liberal: IF YOU DON'T VOTE FOR THE SLIGHTLY LESS BAD PARTY, THE WORSE PARTY WILL DESTROY OUR DEMOCRACY. WHAT DO YOU MEAN OUR VOTES ARE MEANINGLESS? AT LEAST WE HAVE FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS UNLIKE CHINA AND RUSSIA

I'm sorry, but liberals are breaking my brain. How does one contradict themself so openly and obviously without realizing it?

The secret ingredient to the lrabby patty formula is orientalism.

No matter how bad it gets in the west, obviously those filthy asiatics must have it worse because white society is the pinnacle of human civilization!

Last week I saw a comment section on that sub ranting about so-called "theory leftists." They don't even have the decency to call us tankies or red fash anymore, and have instead come up with a pejorative that reveals more about the user than the target. Just know that these are children who are unwilling to sit down and think critically, form a plan, or consider more than 1 year ahead. We have to concede so we can have a better position next time, except we have to concede next time too so we can have a better position in 8 years? When do we stop conceding, to actually wield power? Why is there any expectation that the left would be awarded anything by a political system that's meant to disempower us? Oops, sorry, almost started to form a coherent view of the world and how power operates! Nevermind all that, back to compromising!

Anyway, kick tankies out of 196! all the 20-somethings leave the community and only teens and creepy chasers remain
