Going there w my partner later today (flying from within europe), staying until monday. What are som cools places to go and things to see? We like nerd shit, trying nice food, looking in some cool stores, etc. Not interested hikes or sporty activities for now
Been a long time since I went to Amsterdam, but the museums are def one of the high points
Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum are definitely worth a visit, if you're into modern art then the Stedelijk Museum as well.
Nemo is also cool, it's a science museum, so it has a lot of interactive exhibits and demonstrations and stuff
There's also a museum of sex which is supposedly pretty interesting, a friend of mine went there and had a pretty good time
Van Gogh museum was the highlight for me when I was there. Also foodhallen for great food and beer.
I was there when it was newly (re)built in 2018 or so and it was really cool yeah, will prob go there again
There's a popular cafe called Winkel 43 that serves the best apple pie ever if you're in the Jordaan district. It's a cute little spot for a breakfast date if it isn't too crowded.
Its also short distance from the Anne Frank house if you're interested. I don't remember exactly, but I think you can reserve a time for a tour. The line can be up to like a two hour wait in the summertime otherwise.
The Amsterdam Dungeon is really fun, it's a series of rooms with actors presenting the darker sides of the Amsterdam history. They make the visitors a part of the show.
