Phil needs an editor more than any youtuber but there's some really sobering stuff here.

Oh, did he finally start making videos about things other than Anita Sarkeesian again?

freeze-gamer gate stench doesn't wash out that easily for me; I still see him as a chud until convinced otherwise.

Yeah I don't watch everything but as far as I can tell he has ceased making wrong videos. Just debunking scam products, not even really politics outside of climate crisis, which his more recent videos about have been great. But always so badly edited.

Did this guy stop being a right winger or something? I remember him being a part of my youtube alt-right spiral as a middle schooler.

    Edit: No he didn't https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqMm0U-ZKog

Edit 2: Apparently the video is anti-brexit, which is a huge shocker to me considering this guy used to make "feminist owned" videos all the time

I'm assuming I missed something.. How is deriding Brexit as a total failure and Farage as a grifter, alt-right?

I didn't watch the video, this guy was pro brexit just a few years ago.

This is one of his most popular videos, he used to be right alongside people like Sargon

Yeah, thunderf00t was part of the "new athiest" bandwagon that morphed into gamergate. Just like he may have made a decent video or two criticizing right wing Christian fundamentalism, it doesn't wash away the countless "removed" gamergate videos where he went full frothingfash himself. Unless he put out something where he explicitly denounced and apologized for his years of misogyny, racism, and overt chuddery, I would never consider him someone worth paying any attention to.

His science stuff is solid, he seems to understand that capitalism doomed us. He's far from perfect but his hatred for melon is funny to me. Unfortunately his "Why people laugh at creationists" series was my first introduction to YouTube and despite clearing it he'll never stop popping up.

Why do I have a negative connotation with the name Thunderfoot? I really can’t remember why and I’m too lazy to go looking for an answer.

He was an anti-sjw, anti-feminist youtuber. Sort his videos by popular, the top on is "CRAZY Feminist tries to get me fired: BACKFIRES SPECTACULARLY". He doesn't do much of that anymore, but I don't think that means his opinions have changed that much.

The interesting part was the section on the trees. That's a lot of dead trees

I'm one of the few people that remember atheist channels before they lost the plot and became anti-feminist grifts.

Thunderf00t was one such channel. As a teen I remember watching his videos debunking creationists and enjoying them. Forgetting about him, and then returning to his channel years later only to find he became a woman hater and had jumped on the anti-SJW grift bandwagon. Sad.

I have to say, it was surreal watching a huge chunk of the channels that used to dunk on anti-science snake oil all suddenly become the very type of thing they used to dunk.
