That and I've thought about homesteading, but just animals and animal products is silly. I understand crops can go bad but maybe build your self sustainable crops that are low maintenance that are native or at least non invasive in a way you can easily harvest and collect but it's still 'wild'. Basically like the native Americans and the Amazonians tending forests to harvest freely and easily and helping along the process.
