Communist family doing communist things for as long as communism has been a thing. My parents raised me with Marxist philosophy in mind.

Not a particularly interesting story compared to everyone else.

Do you have writings or stuff about what they did to ensure they enstilled those values in you? I love hearing about that so let me know if you could share

Some of the stuff they did:

They had a whole wall of the house that was filled with books, like, a quarter of those were works of left wing literature of various tendencies. When I started being taught about politics on school, they encouraged me to read from these books to get a more balanced view on leftist ideologies.

Whenever they talked to me about history, they did it with a materialist framework and did their best to avoid instilling any idea of "great man theory" in my conception of the past.

I remember distinctly the last time a labour canvasser knocked our door, because my dad told him exactly what he thought of the local MPs imperialist voting record.

They'd make sure to take me and my siblings with them when they went to protests.

This is great! Thank you for sharing. I hope to have kids in the future and want to learn about other’s experiences with teaching them about left wing politics as I have seen many parents not enstill their values properly. Thank you again for sharing!
