We need to kill the Mega Posting Wars meme. It wasn't very funny to start with and now I get the feeling some people are taking it way too seriously. Clogging up the news thread with bullshit just to try to out post the trans mega is just dumb and annoying.

No shame in it - I also recently made jokes about it - but though they were almost always just jokes, it was unrelated to current events and was beginning to feel more like padding the comment count instead of trying to improve the quality of the thread. If you want to boost comments and engagement here, then post articles and analysis!

How the US handled Sandy Hook was effectively the seal on the deal that this country wasn't going to get better about mass shootings. Failed state, failed system.
What they did do was not pass any laws, nor even form a committee to investigate it, and then pass on the "solution" to for-profit companies that go into schools and give 5 year olds PTSD after the "drills" they make them go through.

Mentioned this on another post, but there is a stench of this being a trial of the newly setup alert system in that school. There are articles mentioning how the alert system was setup one week before this shooting. Some sort of ID device with alert buttons has been provided to the staff at the school. Media messaging like you are seeing would be perfect for the sales brochure of this alert system.
Rolling out new hardware around the start of the school year is extremely common, they usually install it over the summer and spend a few weeks getting it working. Doesn't smell like a conspiracy to me
