"The fact is people in Afghanistan choose not to fight for their democracy"

What in the imperialist hell is this? Jesus christ. I just... it's breathtakingly arrogant, ignorant, and dare I say stupid. What the fuck is he on about? People outside the capital didn't even know why the US had invaded for years and years afterwards.

"I watched the news" Jesus fuck

    "The war brought democracy"

It's just a fucking word for them. It's like the rapture of the liberals or something. "On the blessed day, after we've killed a couple of millions of people destroyed all the infrastructure destabilized all the neighboring countries stolen all the sovereign wealth, angel-biblical DEMOCRACY angel-biblical will descend from the promised land and EVERYTHING WILL BE PERFECT FOREVER.

Just incredible, incredible, unbelievable ignorance and naivete, and they're completely convinced they have a right to speak on these matters and be taken seriously.

Like yeah, sure I was exactly that bad at some point, maybe I should have some humility and grace and compassion, but no, fuck that, I cann't stand this shit dear god.

I just had an argument with a federated visitor that insisted that China really sucks at emergency responses (because of one example given) and that what just happened (or more importantly, didn't happen) in Maui didn't count because some vague idealistic bullshit about how a big mean nanny state makes for weak people but a rugged individualistic scattered bunch of federated territories are totally better simply by their very nature. But when confronted with that, they dialed it back to "I'm not saying China is worse, I'm just saying it's different." morshupls

Okay, well, I have to give them points for actually moderating their statements on China. That's much better than most Libs are capable of.

Put also lol "every person for themselves is great because cooperation would make us soft" brainworms holy shit.

This is very funny because your average Chinese citizen is like 150% more competitive and on their grindset than your average American because they know that their efforts will pay off. Not may pay off, just that statistically there is so much economic opportunity in China and people know and want to take it because they know even if they do fail, there is generally a safety net to fall back into, either some degree of family wealth, or even in desperate situations, state assistance. It's not perfect, there's a lot of problems, especially in the free economic zones, but people see real development, real progress and they like what they see.

Sure. A lot of business brained Americans talk about young people being unwilling to take risks, completely unable or unwilling to understand that the odds of winning are terrible and there's nothing to catch you when you fall.

Literally just white man's burden bullshit. "If the savages didn't want us taking their resources, they would've fought harder to keep them."
