If I have to see Walz or Obama one more time saying they “need” my donation I am gonna lose it.

NO YOU DON’T! THAT’S WHAT YOUR DONORS ARE FOR!

Fucking thieves and charlatans.

That really pissed me off. Imagine if they used those ads for agitation and education for basic socialist concepts. What a waste of a campaign

Right? How much is Barry even worth, now? Why doesn't Nancy throw down 100m for the most important election of our lives? Fuck them.

The lib part of my brain had an idea. What if you could set up campaign donation funds that only get relesed to the candidate for certain policy promises ( i mean they can just break them). Im imagining crowdfunding some sort of "stop the genocide" campaign fund that grows as people donate and is only donated once the candidate vocally supports x policies, or say 'condemn the genocide using the word 'genocide'. If candidate doesnt do the thing everyones money gets refunded.

Isn't that basically just a PAC with a refund option if it doesn't pay a candidate? Could be good if you could get enough participation.

under current conditions, whatever person or committee has the power to make the call on compliance (did politician fulfill promise?) would probably get bought off

having strong flashbacks to the cynical bad faith "fact-checkers" at WaPo during the 2020 primary

I mean yeah the current conditions are easily fucked. Would probably only be useful for like one thing before it coopted into uselessness

Without sounds utterly heartless and mean, this is why I hate "charity". I hate when barons, pharaohs, kings, and merchant princes, ask me to donate to a charity. It really always makes me think "how about YOU donate dude?", and dude can be a person or a MEGACORP. I hate when I got to a store buy my goods and they ask "Would you like to donate to XYZ?" and I just think, why are poor people asking other poor people to donate to a charity on behalf of a MEGACORP? It just feels so wrong to me. I tend not to do so. I'll donate to a "gofundme" or a something I know that organizers are really doing some good work for those that really need, but I always feel like so many "XYZ research fund" or "ABC foundation" tend to feel more organizations to make money and do charity on the side.

I think altruism is cool and good in my book. It's one of humanities greatest strength. Caring for others purely out of a desire to do good rules and I think that's one of the beauties of anarchism as a mindset. Being kind and building up others and support your fellow human is "bussin fr", but I hate how non-profit NGO charity industry gets in the way of altruism intentionally.
