The doughnut is also a type of non-Iberian churro. The round shape symbolizes the ouroborus of the toxic, self consuming "protestant work ethic"

The donut is a type of western kolač, deprived of filling in some gilded age market crash and kept hollow in rememberance of the petty sacrifices petty bourgeois had to make

I've had legit freshly fried donuts and while I'd generally agree the worse quality ones are better snacks than the supposed mid ones, if there is someone on site making them and frying them fresh, whether at home or at a place, a legit donut is genuinely something else. You wouldn't even consider adding anything to it, it's fried sugar dough already and that is dope, maybe cinnamon, cinnamon makes everything a bit better.

You should try Spanish "rosquillas" to know what's an actually dry donut

Does plain mean cinnamon sugar? Cos that's the 'default' donut here and what you'd get if you asked for plain

Ah kay. I've had similar with youtiao (extruded fried dough sticks, basically plain churros) and youbing (fried bread rings). ime too oily to eat on their own but fat + carb i understand the appeal

Are you aware that the first episode of the Simpsons is about Homer coping with not receiving his christmas bonus https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simpsons_Roasting_on_an_Open_Fire
