Fuck broth, throw a whole chicken in water with it. When the chicken's done, take it out, reduce the soup while the chicken cools (add optional rice or noodles now), then take the meat off the carcass by hand when it's cool enough, add it back to the soup. Similar in price to buying decent stock.
