      Gosh, if only there were some large group of otherwise thoughtful people who could adopt some kind of ethical stance against animal consumption informed by materialist analysis to provide some kind of alternative to that. Too bad it is literally only possible to get protein from flesh, to the point that we waste our finite time on this planet figuring out how to synthesize flesh rather than convincing people that beans are actually food.

        Put anything made of peas/beans/TVP in front of an omnivore, and don't tell them it's meatless until after they eat it. Ask them if they can tell the difference.

          Not anything. You gotta choose carfully how you try this.

          A good introduction is a meatless chili.

          I've also had success making pulled jackfruit that meat eaters can't tell isn't meat until I tell them.

          I can't disagree there, lol. I would just expect better from people whose answer to everything is "materialism".
