    So, it's possible to consider the genocide of the Tamil as a war of decolonization.

    justified means for a war of decolonization:

    • self-defense against oppressors
    • attacks against former and current oppressors
    • attacks against collaborators

    unjustified means for a war of decolonization:

    • literal genocide

        also to clarify, i understand that the Tamil genocide had origins in ideas of liberation from their oppressors. (similar situation with the Hutus before the Tutsi genocide too)

        oh i'm referring to ppl that actively benefit from colonization. eg. settlers, colonial governors, other privileged members of a colonial system

          I'm agreeing with you, you are attacking a person's position as an oppressor within the system which maybe up for some discussion (idk) but it's not a genocide.
