      no it absolutely is not. even mint drinks or chamomile or whatever aren't tea. Tea is the plant species camellia sinensis or a drink made by steeping parts of this specific species of plant in water.

          Haha, yeah I wasn't being entirely serious either. Obviously "herbal tea" is the most common way, at least in the US, to refer to what would more "properly" be called a tisane, which is what you get when you steep other plants in water.

          I'm just a big fan of tea, so I like to be elitist about it sometimes
