I know electoralism is a fuck but what are your thoughts on these propositions. Generally, I'll be voting against the interests of the domestic terror organization (AKA the US police force ) but I wanted some input from Chapo as a whole. Hell, maybe even make a voter guide for people that don't want to do all the research for each prop. If anyone has any input, I'm all ears :acab:
Prop 16 passing would remove the constitutional ban on race-based affirmative action, for context.
So the language is really bad and is basically "allow the state to discriminate based on race". Obviously positive (rather than passive) social justice actions terrify libs.
I know they probably didn't mean it but the optics of telling someone to vote No on Racial Equality is cracking me up
This is the kind of discussion I was looking for! At first when I saw this dumb flyer, I laughed it off and threw it away. Then when I actually started reading the props I was like, "Wait a damn minute, cops can't have good takes," and checked it again.
Short answer: yeah, voting the opposite of these recommendations is good, except for Props 20 and 24.
Long answer: I will personally vote based on the proposition endorsements released by the Peace and Freedom Party, a feminist socialist party that has endorsed Gloria LaRiva (PSL) for president. You can find their full endorsement list and articles explaining their positions here and here.
Calling 21 a "housing freeze" should be criminal.
It allows cities to finally be able to set their own rent control rules again instead of being prevented from doing that by the state.
Nope. I did want to start a conversation about the props, though, and I figured this would be a good way to start.
