I mean, my hairdresser did a good job the first time so now I usually just tie the long bit into a ponytail and go over the parts they shaved myself. You don't need a steady hand as long as you clip and tie away the stuff you don't want shaved.
My partners' hairdressers always complained about how I trimmed it for them especially at first...so maybe no steady hand required but maybe I just suck at it

True, that 5 minute clean up for $60 is probably their bread and butter. And although I definitely value their work and feel like they deserve to be paid fairly for it, we definitely could not afford to do that every couple of weeks
