I'd say Adam Curtis, but to be honest, I've only seen Hypernormalisation. But I looked up his filmography, and wow he's got a lot of other documentaries.
So I think I'll check them out, some of them sound pretty based.

We also watched The Other 9/11 about how the CIA installed Pinochet in Chile.
