If I was still in California, I'd be very tempted to get right in the face of devout computer touchers that still worship King Bazinga and laugh obnoxiously loud in their face in a way that might provoke a fistfight.

That's how I feel right now. For some reason, this many layers of blantant lies with no consequences and credulous techbros still buying into it sort of entertains me but also pisses me off enough that throwing hands, just once, might feel good.

Their last "humanoid robot demo" was literally just a guy in a suit, now they're doing literally just a guy controlling waldoes, what progress

Even the fucking bazinga bus (that has no seatbelts) was being remotely operated by a guy blatantly standing like 20 feet away.

This is weak carnival shit that would make P.T. Barnum shake his head at the amateur hour cons... or just concede that they work because techbros are that fucking willfully ignorant and want to believe the Singularity(tm) will solve all their problems and make the poors go away.

      My hate is pure.

Tesla always fakes demos. Literally. Always. The first model S demo was a Mercedes with different body panels

This robotaxi thing? Same thing. I'd be willing to bet on it. The only thing that's surprising is that rubes keep falling for it.

Burned down forests, dried up lakes, and the product is still made by invisible poor people trying to maintain the illusion.

The only silver lining to that would be that there would so many clumsy bazinga grifts with clunky and outright clownish decisions made from the top down that ELO~N might potentially self-sabotage his own apartheid police state and/or death camp aspirations with his own incompetence.

honestly wondering if it's safer for everyone to have the Foolish Fash in charge, which is a wild thing to be thinking as the parent of a trans kid, but 🤷 here we are

theyve been talking about doing this to replace baristas and waiters and stuff with cheaper 3rd world labor remotely for a long time now.

Really incredible that they're going for low-wage humanoid telerobots instead of just robotic arm baristas/bartenders (which actually work & exist, but presumably are too expensive & don't look like a slave).

From what I can tell, this bazinga tech isn't even replacing baristas or waiters and is just making them more invisible so they remotely operate a machine that makes misogynistic and racist techbros feel more comfortable. susie-baffled

It's really telling that all the batshit crazy scams that come from that asshole are always from the non-SpaceX companies he owns. Shotwell obviously knows how to manage her boss so he doesn't fuck things up for her.

True, but SpaceX's entire premise of colonizing mars during our lifetime is potentially the most damaging lie that Elon pushes. Mars will not save us. No tech innovation is going to save us and Mars is never going to happen if we can't even take care of the planet that we have.

I am pissed for all the millions of kids (globally) who got into tech dreaming of changing the world only to find out that everything big tech promised was either a lie or is actually making the world worse off. Or worse still, that they wasted the very best years of their lives and took on crippling levels of debt for a computer science degree that is now worthless because capitalists have decided that training juniors doesn't maximize short term profits. Fuck capitalism.

Amazing, we finally got a more advanced version of this guy and it only cost many millions of dollars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK6sqxT0ttQ
