we learned the hard way that banning wreckers is the only option. they will have to learn the same in just as hard a manner.

It called to mind the article "misogynists make great informants" from back in 2010, in the aftermath of an informant revealing themselves in Austin.

Cw: misogyny, sexual violence, fbi, informants

      https://truthout.org/articles/why-misogynists-make-great-informants/

Not a 1:1 relation, the details are very different, but I think there are some notable similarities in one or a small number of people can be at the center of a problem, and other members of a group shielding that person leads to break downs.

I'm not sure if we could have reached a detente with Blahaj, but it's disapointing that it came down to one abusive mod on a tangential comm to kill federation attempts.

That mod banned me for the following where I quoted them whilst replying to them

"I've also never called anyone slurs!"

    Say the line Bart

    "I used a semi-slur"

    HEYAYA

ooooooooooooooh I hate it when my own words are quoted to me in the mildest of meme formats after denying I said them and downplayed my shitty ableism

Does this person also mod the main subreddit? This is basically exposing the culture internally in the reddit modteam if that's the case.

Why would you just lie about something that is publicly verifiable in the completely public modlogs?

Inexcusable behaviour and untrustworthy on top.

the same reason that libs are still libs in spite of overwhelming evidence against them

vibes trumps evidence 100% of the time

pass the blame onto another member of the team and hope no one calls the bluff

oh my god they're now claiming it was someone else on the mod team and that they've been given a stern talking to. this kind of shirking of responsibility is pathetic

I'd rather square off with literal fascists than these funny-clown-hammer

They claimed they had originally posted the DM to "survey the users" but I saw it before it was scribbled and it was the exact same mocking tone.

same. they're just covering their tracks now that there's a backlash.
