I mean, I agree? Voting is to be approached with a materialist lens, like any political action. My materialist analysis tells me that the positions of both capitalist parties in America have become close to the point of being indistinguishable, therefore a margin thin enough that socialists withholding our support to Dems forces them to either take the loss or stop bombing Gaza is our most effective position. I think other analyses might differ on their conclusions, but to pretend that both capitalist parties are actually so very different is to fall for their propaganda. Different aesthetics do not actually mean a substantial, material difference in the reality they will create.
If voting is a chess move, then the chess board was made to protect property owners and should be completely destroyed altogether.
giving the democrats the mandate no matter what they do does not 'further your position' in any meaningful way. It actually entrenches the encroaching of the enemy's establishment even further. The democrats rely on you 'voting for them anyway because [they're] not the republicans' in order to not have to listen to any working or lumpen communities, giving full freedom to pander to capitalists and petty bourgeois and bail out banks and facilitate gentrification and exploitation and imperialist violence and still get a mandate to power from you. Doing this while continuing the far right slide doing all the terrible things the republicans were doing a few years ago, like in the border and in imperial aggressions and neo-colonial coercion. All while STILL repressing leftists like by COINTELPROing Uhuru, backing the RICO cases pushed by the murderous pigs against Stop Cop City protestors, picking the guy who did the "outside agitators" racist schtick to justify sending an army to crush the George Floyd uprisings as VP and uplifting the Cop current-VP as candidate out of the presidency of the democrat architect of mass incarceration and mass surveillance. The same racist 'outside agitators' schtick of repression that democrats are all in unison using with the republicans to justify repressing anti-imperialist anti-colonial anti-genocide pro-palestine protestors in communities and colleges around the kkkountry, and countless others.
This person is politically illiterate, bad at chess, or more likely both.
I would vote tactically if they gave me a reason to. My faith in electoralism is broken beyond repair, but I would vote for Kamala without hesitation if she offered something as simple as promising to revoke weapons to Israel if they don't do a ceasefire. Any reduction in the imperialist machine would be a tactical victory, yet the Dems offer none of that.
This campaign has been unique in that they won't even do the obvious lies. They are just straight telling us to fuck off
