Biweekly threads sound good to y'all? Should it be weekly?
Thread Question 1: What's the weirdest deck you play?
Thread Question 2: What's the weirdest deck you've played against?
Thread Question 3: What's the weirdest deck concept you've got in your head?
1: All my decks are sorta vanilla. I guess the weirdest would be my Turbofog pauper deck
2: Friend of mine has a Commander deck built around voting and giving himself extra votes. He calls it "Democracy Manifest."
3: I want to make a Commander deck with an abstract theme, and then I found out the artist behind a lot of cards in Boros colors is named Zoltan Boros. It'd ultimately be a Brion Stoutarm Fling deck, which I also want to make, but if I make Boros by Boros, I can kill 2 birds with one stone.
TQ1: I'm not big on playing weird decks just to be weird/a hipster, but I do play a skullbriar deck that focuses on greater good effects rather than being a straight up voltron list.
TQ2: I played against Dong Zhou just today and had it whoop my ass hard.
TQ3: My Pinkie Pie treasures deck. Probably will never assemble this because it's too much of a pain to gather all the specific art versions of cards and then also convince people to let me play an illegal commander. There's R3K and MLP stuff in MTG now?

I haven't played Magic in decades
People are super mad at WotC lately for all the non magic-universe content coming out. 2025 is gonna have final fantasy cards, spider man cards,
and even
spongebob secret lair
They print so much new stuff that I can't see why anyone would get too mad over this lol. It'll be unplayable in like 3 months or whatever
Half of all sets in 2025 will be non Magic IP. So this will be an ongoing problem.
And what's more, standard legal. So you're gonna see a lot more of it no matter what format you play.
@gaystyleJoker@hexbear.net hellooooo could you please pin this one and unpin the old one?
I'm considering attending a prerelease for the first time for foundations. I never buy packs typically, because they're poor value and because fuck WotC's treatment of their customers, I'm voting with my wallet. The prerelease event sounds really cool though! Still leaning towards not attending.
Prereleases can be fun but they can also be awful. I had someone get up and "go to the bathroom" in the middle of a game in a pre-release only to go to the judge's table and write down that he won. I've also had someone threaten to stab me during a pre-release for playing an aggressive BR deck. I would still be playing magic if it weren't for its players who are, imo, the worst in the board gaming community.
