I will never understand (or want to, rather) why people like this exist and do these things. It's just insane to me, it's tragic and the deserve they wall for treating anyone like this, but especially the indigenous populations, they've gotten it sooo bad their entire families as soon as the mayos invaded their rightful land.
Probably a combination of racism and "how dare the injuns get special treatment" with trying to scare off competition.
Atleast that was my best guess when I read one of the articles, but it didn't go into the perpetrators motives.
