It was pretty much ALWAYS a farce. During the highest periods "De-kulakization" the average assets seized in their liquidation was only a couple hundred ruble... "Rich Peasants" they were certainly not.

I was under the impression that the reason for Kulaks being treated poorly was that they destroyed ~14 million tons of grain and slaughtered thousands of head of livestock instead of turning it over. If they only got a few hundred rubles, that means they did in fact destroy their food stores.

A good article from the Soviet Encyclopedia.

I guess the closest modern allegory would be slumlords (the wealthiest) and air-bnb renters (the average). Neither of those groups are incredibly wealthy and the later usually sells their labor as well as renting.

Do you have a source for your claim and contextualization how much a few hundred roubles were back then? Furthermore how much acres were those equivalent to?

White racists are "protesting" Mi’kmaq's right to fish. What they have from their treaty with the government.

The whites have been way over the line and the pigs have literally just watched. There is no doubt in my mind the commercial fisherman are heading for a fight and the pigs are going to ratfuck the Mi’kmaq for sticking up for themselves and their rights.

I will never understand (or want to, rather) why people like this exist and do these things. It's just insane to me, it's tragic and the deserve they wall for treating anyone like this, but especially the indigenous populations, they've gotten it sooo bad their entire families as soon as the mayos invaded their rightful land.

Probably a combination of racism and "how dare the injuns get special treatment" with trying to scare off competition. Atleast that was my best guess when I read one of the articles, but it didn't go into the perpetrators motives.

I'm more focused on how they hate trees. They are always for mass deforestation. Also I can't really eat beef any more.

We don't need this much land dedicated to cows.

Holy fuck, this is the shittiest take. People gotta eat, and we don't live in an ideal world where everyone is a vegan, wether you like it or not.

what does this have to do with veganism? you can hate the people in a profession independently of whether or not you consume their product.

I'd wager that farmers are much the same, but it doesn't make me a hypocrite because I eat food

    Thus night fell.

    Yesterday as well

    the sun went down

    behind the mountain peaks

    and bells rang.
