"Right on Red" was more or less non existent before the gas rationing that took place in response to the Oil embargo imposed on allies of Israel in response to the 1973 Yom Kippur War as a way to increase fuel efficiency by stalling on red lights less.
While fuel efficiency in itself is not a bad thing, having right on red is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. All my homies hate right on red, everyone on this platform should be against it, and be in support of banning it in their cities/states. I've almost been killed by a pick up truck driver ramming through a right on red during a walk signal at a crosswalk and I'm sure other people here have similar stories.

Only a couple of lights near me have a sign requiring drivers to come to a full stop before turning right that threaten automatic ticketing if you don't comply.
Most don't even bother with any signs, and a handful of them just have a yellow triangle "caution when merging" signs with their own separate turn lane that creates a concrete island for the poor folks that dare to cross a 6+ lane road on foot.
Florida sure is a paradise on earth.

If a car stops at a light blocking the crosswalk, I should legally be allowed to climb up and walk over said car
When I was in my twenties a van ran over my bike's front wheel that way, crushing the rim into the shape of a sine wave and bending the fork. I caromed off of the side of the van and was falling face-first toward the pavement. Felt a lot like being thrown in jujutsu class, so I did a roll. My martial arts training has seen much more use surviving biking in the city than dealing with people. I'm only alive because the collisions have been low-speed so far
You're supposed to come to a COMPLETE STOP before doing it anyway but we all know they don't
Dunk tanks, traffic laws, nursery rhymes, and perhaps every other figure of speech. It appears that the entire angloid superstructure is built on a base of demonically racist history.
Do NOT look up what the "eeny meenie miny moe" rhyme was originally.
Love pounding my fist on someone's hood when they roll through a red without looking to their right.
gosh I'm sure glad for civility's sake that your hand didn't contain a magnetic limpet mine
Hell yeah.
I do hate right on red. I never really thought about why, as I hate any and all driving. But, now I actively know why I really dislike right on red.
Seattle has somewhat of campaign going where they're making more intersections no right on red.
