Yeah....just speaking from my own experience, I know that with this pandemic my goal posts shifted from:
"limit and monitor screen time to 1 hour a day total"
to:
"...I guess just make sure he's not completely brain poisoned by youtube by the time he's 7."
Maybe I should have done more but there was no daycare, I am still working full time, and it was 105 degrees outside, and I spent a good amount of time on parenting controls to force regular breaks and prevent various content.
Now that he's in distance learning its gotten better and I've managed to cut him back but there's an entire generation of kids who have retreated into online spaces as a coping mechanism for all this and this sort of thing doesn't surprise me at all.

Just to be clear though: yes I intend to radicalize my kid. IMO he needs to be a bit older before you get into anything approaching Marx, but I'm making conscious effort to instill values that collaboration can be more important in life then competition, I kind of nudge him towards understanding concepts of empire and power when he watches cartoons like Avatar, and in general try to instill the importance of understanding we all live in a society.
