McColl Mayor George Garner II collided with an 18-wheeler during a chase with county police, days after the town’s entire force resigned.

    “The pursuit was not related to any laws being broken. The pursuit was taking place in an effort to protect the well-being of Mr. Garner,” the coroner said, adding that more information will be released in the coming days.

      Or their were reports of him being suicidal. That would explain several things. The lack of info currently given about what happened (hippa violations) why he was being followed though there's no reports of a high speed chase or that he was trying to flee from the police. Then, how he went over into oncoming traffic to hit a semi truck head on.
