This is bypassed by using a different IP and changing your browser's user-agent. They can't device ban you as they can't actually get any information about your device, what they do instead is browser ban people by tracking your browser's signature, by changing the user-agent of the browser it fools their system into uncertainty about the signature and does not trigger the automated bans.
Using Opera browser with the built-in VPN turned on (before visiting reddit and receiving cookies) will do it and as the Opera VPN only affects Opera itself this doesn't affect any of your other activity on your machine.
Ah well, my bad for getting that wrong. I just use a front end like redlb or whatever if I ever need to venture there. The site owners and site culture sucks ass anyway
No "bad" at all, just dropping the info in case you or anyone else is looking at bypassing it. Common experience and reddit does make it difficult to bypass.
