I am a tech worker and my first tech job was 8 dollars an hour, from a boss that would write bad checks and I would find out at the ATM when I would go to deposit them. Fun times (not). Also fuck me for busting my ass and struggling every day to try and make more money so I can actually afford things like food and a place to live right? What should I do instead, just starve? Yeah the system is fucked and all I can do is help organize in my local community, partake in events and help build class consciousness with my fellow workers so we can overthrow this corrupt shit.
I worked hard and struggled to try and make more money so I didn't have to deal with roommates that would try to beat me or rape me by the way so fuck you.

To suggest that a programmer/engineer exists in a vacuum within their corporate spaces and has no material effect on the life of anyone else is offensive. A high salary constitutes material wealth in and of itself, we don’t live in an age where nobility is a thing.
