The fact that anarchists don't talk about the Kowloon Walled City all the time proves how stupid internet Anarchists actually are (except for any anarchists reading this who are of course very smart and cool)

I was fortunate to visit Hong Kong a few years ago, went to the park where the walled city used to be. I know Hong Kong is some turbo capitalist neocolonial hellscape but Nathan road and Kowloon in the humid summer night is literally Bladerunner aesthetics and it's cool as fuck.

    Cheap smokes and booze too.

Isn’t bladerunner aesthetics a bad thing? Maybe I understood the movie wrong but the giant techno-corporate hell-scape felt extremely claustrophobic, and the way the population toiled away at the bottom of the city while the giant skyscrapers stood tall sort of made the society feel really economically stratified, like you’re looking at what the natural logical next step is for cities as they grow. Also the whole constant advertisement face thing.

Idk, the city was obviously intricately designed and well-made but I feel like it wasn’t made to look cool. Maybe I’m braindead tho
