give him the property, that way he's no longer living on your property
bet they smoke weed
edit: two_words##### accounts are always sus accounts in my mind "shooting up meth" is such a weirdo way to describe things
ok this is a portland related subreddit too: SUPER ASTROTURFED yeah it's completely fucked up and there's a non zero chance this person actually exists but given the langely proximity there's also a non zero chance this person doesnt exist
Uuuummmm I think landlords can make themselves look like clueless heartless sociopaths without any intervention from the CIA.
I think the astroturfing is from corporations/landlords/etc. Three letter government agencies aren't the only ones who do it. You get a lot of bots and PR lanyards on r*ddit ran by businesses. They cost nothing to operate and have a lot of reach. Landlords, for example, are the exact kind of derpshits to not realize a local restaurant is advertising to them in the comment sections of a semi-anonymous website.

I must not understand the concept of astro turfing.
Are landlords the derp shit constituency or the behind the scenes organizers?
If they are both.... Is it really astro turfing, or just a group of people organizing on their shared interests?
Three letter government agencies aren't the only ones who do it.
So what does Langley have to do with anything?

Sounds very specific but I have no way to know about what. A thread that stuck in your craw? (Can't say I'm immune to that.) Are local restaurants astroturfed by the CIA?
"Astroturfing" refers to a type of propaganda that pretends to be "grassroots" ("Astroturf" being the name of a brand of fake grass used to make football fields). The propagandists pretend to be ordinary people without disclosing their affiliation.
For example, you are more likely to see a movie recommended by a viewer reviews vs. a recommendation by an entertainment magazine. Movie companies know this, so they send out people pretending to be normal users on websites to give positive reviews. The difference between MGM's Twitter account and MGM's astroturfing is users are aware the official account belongs to MGM.
Governments use astroturfing all the time to sway public opinion on social media. They don't disclose their government association because other users would become suspicious of their opinions. But if they think their neighbor Bob has those opinions? They're more receptive to it.
Landlords are the types who think "You can't bullshit a bullshitter" and then fall for bullshit. They'll think they're clever for posting a multiple sock puppet accounts to say good things about themselves and not realize there are multiple people/organizations doing the same thing.
Basically, nothing you see on the internet is real, especially on r*ddit lol. Hell, stuff like the Tea Party Movement was astroturfing by Koch Industries.
Pardon my ignorance, but if they're shooting meth, then it's not hurting anything except the user, right? Smoking indoors is a fire hazard, so as long as they're doing needles instead, who cares?
the maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry
Urgh, my landlord has a meth test clause in our lease. No one here does meth, but it seems gross
How is that legal? Do you mean they can demand a drug test randomly?
Apparently. If we test positive, we also have to pay for the test and also get evicted.
That's crazy. Failing a drug test is probably not legal cause to evict you, and refusing to take the test almost certainly is not. Of course they can do a no-cause eviction if you don't have a lease.
Landlords can and do put all kinds of unenforceable clauses in leases, though. There's no incentive not to because some people will see that they've violated an unenforceable clause and simply move out assuming that it is legal.
It depends on where you live, but these types of clauses are not always enforceable. That said, if you refuse, I'm sure there are plenty of other methods for your shitty landlord to legally harass you.
I had a barber in the pearl district. Super nice guy that got a data scientists job and was able to propose to his wife. When he left his replacement was the typical portlander redditor; did nothing but talk shit about everyone, including me because I drove an hour to that place because I liked the prior guy so much.
I get my haircut in hood river now.
Portland is an awesome place, but man is the reddit base their fucking dumb and hateful. Like even dumber and more hateful than the average redditor.
/r/askportland is surprisingly nice. There’s even people dunking on the OP.
Who gives a fuck, if they aren't taking the copper out of the walls then you'll probably end up with a cleaner place than if you rented to non-users
I’m a meth addict and all of my friends are too. Boy oh boy you are wrong about that last part.
Long-term meth use, the kind where you use multiple times a day every day, has the opposite effect from what you would expect. We are fucking messy as fuck. When a power user has a space of their own like a house or a car or a tent—disorganized clutter wall to wall, you often cannot move from one point to another without some weird acrobatics
wow i guess there really is a difference between meth and adderall
