Might be something. Might be nothing. But people have been seeing drones every night for a couple days now it's so bad the FBI is getting involved. Mr. Xi, if your Chinese drones are over the state, you have my permission to fire away.

That title brings me back to browsing GameFAQs' paranormal/conspiracy board wayyyy back in the early 00s. Most of it was about what you'd expect but every once in a while someone would post a convincingly creepy story about a thing that allegedly happened to them. It was almost a sort of proto creepypasta community.

Back in The Day I'd just bumble around blogspot blogs and sometimes the comments would just be hundred comment long creepypasta about slenderman with multiple people, before it'd eventually go off the rails(by slenderman mythos standards) and it'd be taken over by "this was great until you started ruining it with x"

Pretty sure those just belong to some company testing the potential for drone deliveries of some kind and long-term flight. Now if that company is military related or not is the real question. Aliens today are what demons were to people in the middle ages, some mythological bs made use of by the state to manipulate people.

It tuned out that it wasn’t China, Russia, BRICS, or even internal struggles that played a key role in the American Empire’s downfall but something nobody ever expected: aliens.

I live here and I'm positive that 99.9% of the reports are just commercial airliners. Every video I've seen is either obviously a plane or too far away/blurry to tell. People have a very hard time gauging the distance, size, and speed of objects in the sky at night. Distant planes can appear to move through the sky as if they were much closer drones. Lighting on planes has also gotten much brighter in recent years due to the adoption of LEDs - if they are pointed exactly in your direction, the distance can be very deceptive.

When the comet was here a couple of months back, we had dozens of posts on local astronomy FB pages where people were mistaking airplane contrails at dusk for the comet. People are generally not aware or observant of their daily surroundings and this time it has spiraled into a mass panic.

I will gladly walk back my hypothesis when I see one clear video of something that can't be anything else but a drone, but I'm not holding my breath as it's been weeks now and we still have nothing. The "government testing out drones" theory just requires too many leaps of logic in this case to be believable for me.
