Accountability is literally impossible if people keep on having alts or finding ways to anonymize their actions. "Opsec" can as much be an excuse to escape accountability. This applies to both the admins/mods and users.
The way out is do what the vast majority of forums did in the past, which is to reward old users and penalize new users. However, I suspect this will never be used because it quickly leads to the formation of power usersTM, goes against the spirit of Hexbear being "egalitarian."
hexbear has literally been able to entirely reshuffle the mods and admins of the site multiple times over the past year, the admins/mods are less stratified than the average forum but no different than any other youd find anywhere else.

I wasn't really being very serious, just pointing out how funny it is to see unnamed user banned from a comm by unnamed mod.
Yeah whoever is using bureaucrat to complain about anonymized moderator actions is being very silly
No what I'm saying is that mods have the original Bureaucrat nature, a protected/inaccessible stratified tier of metaposting.
A digital version of the Forbidden City, if you will.

Oh yeah that is also silly
I feel like I'm caught in some peoples argument and it sucks.
