I’m not sure about that, He could stack that department top to bottom with pro union hires and use it to implement policies via executive action that make it easier for labor to organize. That would lay the groundwork for more class based organization which I think could be more powerful than chairing a committee for 2 years (since the Dems will loose the Senate in 2022)
While it would be cool to see him be Labor Sec... he'd lose a lot of power.
If Dems retake the Senate, he's all but guaranteed to be the Chairman of the Budget Committee, and also the Chairman on the Subcommittee on Health
