love the black vs white composition- it’s like the black colors would typically be associated with cold and dark, but in this piece it’s a warm black kitty, a person in a warm black coat (perfect for wrapping kitties), and a warm house albeit with a dark lower level. Definitely captures the beautiful danger associated with winter, a white void, unfeeling and cold.

I love the unnatural tree placement. Kinda acts like a wall between her and the cat and the safety of their home. This together with the coldness of the colours gives me an eerie feeling, even though the scene should be heart-warming.
